The MLB season has entered it’s last week as the 2018 Postseason approaches. Some teams have already clinched a spot in the Postseason, and other teams are still fighting for a spot.

All Postseason spots have been clinched in the American League. The Boston Red Sox, (106-51), have  first place in the AL East. Second place in the AL East, the New York Yankees, (96-60), have clinched a spot in the AL Wild Card and will face off against the Oakland Athletics, (95-62). It still remains undecided on who will get home field advantage for the AL Wild Card game as the Yankees and Athletics are still battling for the first Wild Card spot. The Houston Astros, (99-57), are the defending World Series Champions from last season, and are currently first in the AL West. The Cleveland Indians, (88-68), have clinched first place in the AL Central due to the competition in that division being weak.

Only one team has a Postseason spot in the National League. The Atlanta Braves, (88-68), have the first place in the NL East. The Chicago Cubs, (91-65), are currently first in the NL Central. The Los Angeles Dodgers, (88-69), are currently first in the NL West. The Milwaukee Brewers, (90-67), and the St. Louis Cardinals, (87-70), are currently matched up against each other to face off in the NL Wild Card game at the start of the Postseason. Postseason spots are still up for grabs as the Colorado Rockies, (86-70), are currently half a game back from the NL Wild Card and are a game and a half back from first place in the NL West. The Brewers are also a game and a half back from first in the NL Central.

The Postseason race is coming to an end as some teams have already won a spot and others remain in the race as they fight for a spot. The season ends Monday, October 1st, as we will learn who makes the Postseason and who misses the Postseason.
