The Sequel Did Not Fail to Hit The Nail On The Head

Creed II is a movie that hit theaters on November 21st, 2018. Creed II was the second of the Creed movie saga, following Creed, which released on November 25th, 2015. The Creed movies take place in the Rocky universe as the movies bring back original characters like Rocky Balboa, played by Sylvester Stallone, and Ivan Drago, played by Dolph Lundgren. Of course, the Creed movies needed a new protagonist to feature in the movies, so they brought in Michael B. Jordan, who plays the role of Adonis Johnson (Creed), the son of Apollo Creed from the original Rocky movies.

After Creed was released back in 2015, it was rewarded a 95% score on rotten tomatoes. Everything felt like it was done right in Creed, the character roles, character development, setting, timeline, and special effects. The movie got people hyped up for the sequel and had you wondering if it was going to be as good as the first movie. In my opinion, I believe Creed II, the sequel of Creed, was just as good. The movie didn’t score as well on rotten tomatoes as the first, as it landed a 82% in rotten tomatoes, that still didn’t change my opinion on the movie. Michael B. Jordan was a great fit to play the role of Adonis Creed, and I can’t see anyone else fitting the role like he does.

To me, there was no scene in the movie of Creed II that left me confused or bored, I was into every second of the movie. The opening scene was great, it gave you an inside look at where Adonis is now in his boxing career. The movie took off from there as not much longer, the main opponent came into the plot and from there you knew where the setting was going. The movie had you on the edge of your seat during the boxing scenes so much that you felt like you were in the movie. I remember my hands were sweating while watching it.

Overall, Creed II was an amazing movie, just like the first movie. The saga is heading in a great direction as I can’t wait for the third release. I highly recommend this movie if you’ve seen the original Rocky movies or are into intense movies.
