October 22 is Game 1 of the World Series will be played at Minute Maid Park at 5:08 PM. After the Washington Nationals swept the St. Louis Cardinals in the American League Championship Series (ALCS), the New York Yankees and the Houston Astros played an amazing series that resulted in the Astros taking home the victory after the second baseman hit a walk-off two-run home run to win the game. This year’s World Series is sure to be good because both teams have some amazing players that certainly contributed to the outcome of their season. The Washington Nationals were never expected to make the World Series, not only because they have never won one, but also because their season did not have a fantastic start. The Nationals made it to the Wild Card, but were expected to be beaten after they defeated the Milwaukee Brewers. The Los Angeles Dodgers were winning the series when the Nats came back to take over and move on to eventually beating the Cardinals. The Astros were always expected to do well in the playoffs, and they did. After they beat the Tampa Bay Rays, their next challenge was the Yankees. The Yankees took the lead in the series on the first game, but the Astros were not letting the Yankees beat them. They won the series and are headed to their second World Series within the last two years (they appeared in the 2017 World Series against the Dodgers). Tonight is Game 1 of the 2019 World Series, and it sure is going to be a interesting one because even though the Astros are coming with their skillful players and amazing pitching staff, the Nats are also bringing their great pitching staff as well as some amazing players that can contribute to them having a fighting chance. Gerrit Cole (Astros) and Max Scherzer (Nationals) are facing off to hopefully get their team a win.
