Last weekend, Miami, Florida hosted Super Bowl LIV. This year’s Super Bowl was one of the better Super Bowl’s in my opinion as the game was close all the way up till the very end.
The San Francisco 49ers (13-3) and the Kansas City Chiefs (12-4) prepared for two for the event that both teams will remember for their entire lifetime. Jimmy Garappolo, the 49ers quarterback, who played phenomenal this year, faced off against the Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, who was the rookie of the year last season.
The game started low scoring as the game reached half time with the score being 10-10. The first half was very even as no one was really particularly playing one sided over the other side.
In the second half of the game, the scoring picked up as Garappolo and the 49ers tallied for another touchdown and a field goal to improve the score to 20-10. The game came to the fourth quarter, and the 49ers still had their ten point lead over their opponent Chiefs. Near the seven minute mark in the game, the Chiefs had got another touchdown on the board to make the score 20-17. This made the game extremely close as the final minutes were approaching. Not long after, the Chiefs continued to pressure and tallied for another touchdown to take the lead 24-20. Once the Chiefs had taken the lead late in the fourth quarter, fans knew that this most likely meant the end for the 49ers.
In the final couple minutes of the game, the Chiefs padded their lead and guaranteed their win by scoring their third touchdown in just the fourth quarter to increase their lead to 31-20, and to win Super Bowl LIV.
This year’s Super Bowl was a great game as it kept fans on the edges of their seats for the entire game. Congratulations to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs for winning the Lombardi.
