The 2020 MLB Spring Training is upon us, and now the baseball community is finally getting a preview of the upcoming 2020 season. But for those who do not know what Spring Training is, it is a mini-season where teams play before the actual season starts. Spring Training is important for teams because it allows all the prospects that got invited to play in Spring Training to show what they can do for the team. Spring Training is also a time for the teams’ new additions to show their new team that they were a great choice and that they will produce for their new team. It also is a time for teams to flourish and maybe make their presence known so that teams and even fans get a preview of what that specific teams 2020 season will be like. The 2020 Spring Training has been great so far in my opinion. Watching some of the top prospects play for their future team has been amazing.
One interesting thing about this Spring Training is watching all the teams play against the Houston Astros. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, then you should know why it is interesting to watch teams play the Astros. Because of their whole cheating situation, pitchers are purposely hitting Astros batters. At the time, seven Astros players have been hit, those players being Dustin Garneau, Jose Altuve, Alex De Goti, Osvaldo Durate, Aledmys Diaz, Jake Meyers, and Alex Bregman. Seeing how many batters have been hit already gives fans a little preview of the 2020 season for the Astros. Even though the Astros cheated their way into the postseason, they’re still a good team without cheating, which makes me wonder why they cheated in the first place, even though they were already doing pretty good.
