The 2020 MLB season was postponed due to the coronavirus, but this sparks questions like, “When will the season start?”. The answer to that question is that the MLB do not know when the season will start. As much as fans will not like it, the season probably will not even happen due to coronavirus and social distancing. It pains fans everywhere, knowing that maybe there might not even be a season. Not only is the MLB season being postponed a problem, but it also affects things surrounding it. Fans who ordered tickets in advance can not go to the games they paid for. And even prospects for MLB teams are affected because now that their team can not see how they play they might not get called up. Even in Spring Training, prospects were affected because that is when the season really ended. The players are even affected. There is a big question from players and fans. Will the players get paid during the time the season is out? Well according to Yahoo Sports, “…the MLB can technically withhold pay from players during a national emergency, (Rob) Manfred isn’t set on doing that…”. The commissioner of baseball, Rob Manfred does not want the players to not get paid during this time the season is out. The league is discussing options to pay the players while the season is out. The MLB season postponed arises another question of what will the MLB season look like if it started now? Well, the league does not know, but whenever it does start, the players will be more prepared than ever.
